'Still Optimist' is a two-person band, producing rather moody and atmospheric electronic music. This is their first video clip. I was responsible for the full creative direction and production. The design had to be repurposed for various social media platforms, including, GIFs for promotion, the grid for Instagram, Facebook and album cover artworks, etc.
The edit and the first phase of masking/keying were made in Davinci Resolve. There were additional masking and alpha fine-tuning in After Effects.
The 3D parts were created in Cinema4D, rendered with Octane. For the particle simulations, I used xParticles.
The CGI shots then were completely re-timed in Davinci again and the brought into AE where the live footage and the CGI shots were ironed together.
