🖤 Overview
With You is a short visual film exploring the theme of emotional vulnerability through the metaphor of breaking free from a marble shell.
Created entirely as a personal project, I handled all aspects — from direction and cinematography to compositing and visual effects. The film is guided by a minimalist music track with intimate lyrics, focusing on surrender, trust, and creative symbiosis.
✨ Concept
The subject — a singer — appears sculptural and motionless at first, covered in dried white paint like a living statue.
As the piece unfolds, fragments begin to break away: layers of identity, memory, and stillness dissolve in slow, poetic rhythm.
Subtle blue LED-like halos pulse behind the figure in the chorus, symbolising internal transformation and shared emotional resonance.
🎧 Lyrics Excerpt
"With you
It’s pleasant to fall down
With you
I can be weak"
It’s pleasant to fall down
With you
I can be weak"
These lyrics informed both the visual narrative and editorial pacing — soft, abstract, and rhythmic.
🧠Process
Shot on Greenscreen: The performer was filmed in studio with a matte white body paint texture and minimal ambient lighting.
FX Design: Shell-breaking simulations were developed in Cinema 4D with procedural control, paired with subtle noise-based fragmentation.
Compositing: I integrated physical footage and CG debris within a unified monochrome treatment, blending motion with static elements.
Chorus Sections: Introduced circular light shapes to punctuate the emotional beat, echoing the idea of presence, energy, and resonance.

🔧 Technical Approach
Custom debris simulations using X-Particles
Shot grading and finishing in Resolve
Fine material and lighting control in Octane
Motion tracking and roto in After Effects
